It was in 1911 that Walter Martiny created his first SUPERGA factory, which takes its name from a hill on which stands a basilica overlooking the Piedmontese city. So romantic!

The beginning of the SUPERGA story is marked by the manufacture of rubber boots for farmers: indeed, the founder of the brand, Walter Martiny, was the first to introduce rubber vulcanization in Italy. In search of the perfect pair of sneakers for sports activities, he created the now iconic 2750 sneakers in 1925.

Comfortable and lightweight, this sneaker with an almost indestructible sole immediately became a success. It was a real turning point for the Italian house, which then refocused its collections around lines of canvas sneakers with a fun and modern look.
