For eight decades, the Sebago men's footwear brand has combined ocean travel with celebrity inspiration, the singular symphony of a pioneering brand. The word "sebago", meaning great waters, has its roots in the Native American people. In 1946, Sebago luxury footwear bore the signature "Sebago Lake", one of the largest lakes in the state of Maine.

A unique expertise defined by different eras

In 1950, the fashionable Sebago men's shoe collection was 'John', a soft, hard-wearing shoe that paid tribute to the inimitable elegance of John Fitzgerald Kennedy. The sporty, pure lines of these Sebago boat trainers display a certain mix of modernity and practicality. An active supporter of the brand, the 35th President of the United States of America epitomised Sebago chic with his premium Sebago men's shoes, a classic with an avant-garde twist. In 1954, more than 1,000,000 classic Sebago men's shoes were sold.

Classic loafers in the spotlight

The tradition was to mark the time when American prep school students made a habit of slipping pennies into the slot of their moccasins. It was in memory of this time that the classic Sebago moccasins, known today as "Penny Loafers", were developed. In 1993, Sebago's slogan was "Made with care, built to last". In 2017, the brand celebrated its 70th anniversary by reissuing the Sebago "Dan" moccasins in new colours. The brand continues to innovate and surprise the fashion conscious with Sebago men's shoes, Sebago women's shoes and Sebago children's shoes with their timeless design.
