The Crockett & Jones brand is named after the two people who founded it in 1879. That is the two brothers-in-law James Crockett and Charles Jones. The workshop was established in Northampton, England, a town known as the best-known in shoemaking at that time.

The factory has been managed by members of the Jones family for as long as anyone can remember. In 2006, Philippa Jones and Oliver Jones assumed the management of the family business. To this day, the founding family is still at the head of the company and their focus is on product quality.
